Whistle Tours, Rossland Red Mountain's backcountry ski tours

Imagine -- a cool crisp blue sky winter day. Overnight the mountains received a blanket of knee deep West Kootenay powder.

After a forty five minute tour through the snow laden trees we arrive at an unsuspecting peak. Just below, the tall scented trees are perfectly spaced, linking meadow after meadow -- waiting to be skied.

The snow crystals and hoar sparkle in the sunlight. One by one we bob through the powder of white like a child in a jolly jumper.

Group Size and Guides: We prefer to limit the touring group to 2 to 3 guests, for practical and safety reasons. Typically, Gary Westbury, founder and proprietor of Whistle Tours will be your guide.

Pricing, Reservations Etc: We are presently catering to 1/2 and full day tours which includes use of all of the equipment and the services described above. There is no transportation charge for tours within a few minutes drive of Rossland, which thankfully includes most tours. Some tours are accessed from the ski lifts at Red Mountain, in which case a lift ticket would be required. Contact us for pricing, further details and to plan a tour that suits your particular needs.

We appreciate payment of these fees in advance of the tour to reserve the specified date. Prior to the tour, we will require delivery to us of a signed Release Form (click here to view and print the form). Please review and sign this legalese prior to the tour so this lovely lawyerly detail is not an issue during our precious touring time.
